I have always been a huge lover of anything beauty. As a little girl, I would always play beauty shop with my friends, and now at the fine age of 21 years old, I STILL play beauty shop with my friends! I love doing hair and makeup and making others feel beautiful.
If teaching doesn’t work out, I’m totally going to go to beauty school! 😉
Tonight I’m going to share a few of my go-to beauty products I use on the regular.
I love to try out new things, and if you do, too, I would recommend signing up for a monthly subscription to ipsy. It’s only $10/month, and you will get a “Glam Bag” in the mail every month with beauty samples in it. I get some amazing stuff! When you sign up, you create a profile that will customize your samples to fit you.
I’m also not one of those girls that will go and spend $50 on foundation, or any other beauty product. I like to shop at my local retailers, such as Walmart and ULTA. I also order some essentials on Avon.com.
In order to have great skin, you have to take proper care of it. Two things to remember: always remove your make up before going to bed and use a night cream to keep your skin looking young.
I use Maybelline Clean Express makeup remover. It really does a great job removing gobs of eye makeup (even waterproof!).
Just to get a deep clean on my face before I apply my night cream, I use Equate Night-Time Soothing Makeup Remover Towelettes. These things are the off-brand to the Clean & Clear kind, and they work just the same (plus you get more for your money with the Equate brand).
To finish off my night routine, I use Equate Night-Time Firming Cream. This stuff is wonderful, and it smells so clean.
Now it’s time to get down to business!
To start off my beauty routine, I use Equate Dual Power Moisturizer (Once again, this is the knock-off of Clean & Clear). This gets my face soft and ready to hold all of my makeup.
Next, I prime my face with ULTA Flawless Prime. This stuff makes my face feel soft as baby’s skin.
After the moisturizing and priming, I begin to apply Maybelline New York Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Liquid Foundation. Okay, y’all, this foundation is amazing! It goes on as a liquid, but feels like a powder after it dries. It’s so light-weight, yet has amazing coverage!
For any blemishes or dark under eyes, I dab on It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer. I got this sample for free in my ipsy bag, but it can be found online at ULTA. This item is a little pricey ($24), but so worth the splurge. It doesn’t take much to get great coverage, so the tube will go very far!
After setting the base for the rest of my makeup, I use one of two products. For natural and easy highlight and contour, my go-to is NYX Wonder Stick. For a more dramatic highlight and contour, I use the ULTA Contour Kit. You can check out this post for reference on what areas of your face should be highlighted and contoured.
I love using a little bit of blush to give me a rosy glow. My favorite blush is AVON Smooth Minerals. It is a very fine powder that applies so effortlessly (and always remember, less is more when it comes to blush and eyeshadow).
You should always seal your work and get a smooth finish with a loose powder. Just sweep a little over your face, and blend, blend, blend! My go-to is Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder.
Moving on to eyes and brows…
I have brown eyes, so i naturally go for nudes and browns on my eyes. Although, nudes and browns look good with any eye color.
Here are a few of my favorite shadows:
mark. On the Dot Eye Color Compact in Neutrals
Rob Scheppy ‘Tini Beauty eye shadow in Pearl Fizz
Maybelline Expert Wear eye shadow in Natural Smokes
To top off my eye look, I line my top lids with AVON Glimmersticks Waterproof Eye Liner in Blackest Night, and put one coat of mark. Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara in Blackest Black on my top and bottom lashes, and one coat of mark. Lash Act Build and Define Mascara in Blackest Black on my top lashes only.
To finish off my overall look, I use AVON Makeup Setting Spray. Just spray a few times, let it sit for a second or two, and you’re done!
Enjoy! 🙂
